Brondell Swash 1400 vs Brondell Swash 1000 | High Level Comparison
The Brondell Swash 1400 and Brondell Swash 1000 are relatively easy to compare because they both come from the same manufacturer. The Swash 1000 had a successful five-year run as Brondell's flagship model, until the release of the "new and improved" Swash 1400 in 2017. Although they look rather similar on the outside, there are a couple design external differences to note: (1) a new hidden pocket for cordage and (2) a new replaceable deodorizer cartridge.
The new hidden pocket design on the Brondell Swash 1400 makes the cordage more discreet by "indenting" the ports for the water and electrical connections, into the body of the seat. Another important difference - is that the electric cord has been moved over to the same side as the water connection. On the Swash 1000, the electric cord was on the right side but on the Swash 1400 is it now on the left. The replaceable deodorizer cartridge is another new addition. While the Swash 1000 had an air deodorizer too, the active carbon cartridge inside was permanent and not replaceable. But Brondell changed things up on the Swash 1400 by adding a removable/replaceable cartridge system.
Internal, feature-set changes include the addition of two user presets where you can pre-program wash preferences for two different people in your household. There's a new "Auto" button on the remote control where you can start a wash/dry cycle all in one button. The feminine wash nozzle as been re-designed to be longer, providing women with improved forward reach. There's also a new LED night light feature on Swash 1400 which illuminates your toilet bowl.

Brondell Swash 1400
-
$649.00
Brondell's latest generation model - the Brondell Swash 1400, still retains the dual-nozzle system found on the Swash 1000 where, two nozzles are used for washing - one for the posterior area and a separate nozzle for the feminine area. But based on user feedback, Brondell has incorporated a longer feminine nozzle in the Swash 1400 for improved forward reach for women. Another difference is the addition of an "Auto" button on the remote control which starts a wash and dry cycle, all in one button. Two user presets let you pre-program wash preferences - water pressure, water temperature, and spray position for up to two people in your household. Brondell carried over the popular "sit-able" lid from the Swash 1000 to the Swash 1400.
Compelling reasons to choose the Brondell Swash 1400:
    - You want the two user presets
    - Electrical outlet is located left of the toilet, and the cord wouldn't reach from the right
    - You like the added features, such as the longer feminine nozzle and new LED night light
Brondell Swash 1000
-
$599.00
Brondell's previous generation model - the Brondell Swash 1000 enjoyed a five-year run as Brondell's flagship seat from 2012 - 2017. As one of world's top selling bidets over this time period, the Swash 1000 gathered quite the fan base and loyal following. Due to its popularity the Swash 1000 is still available for sale, offered at a slight discount when compared to the Swash 1400. Equipped with stainless steel nozzles, this seat offers both posterior and feminine wash features. Water pressure, water temperature and spray position are fully adjustable so you can tailor the wash to best suit your body. The warm air dry and heated toilet seat are some of the bidet's most popular features, although you'll also find these features on the new Swash 1400 as well.
Compelling reasons to choose the Brondell Swash 1000:
    - You like "proven" models. The longer history of the Swash 1000 has shown proven durability
    - Electrical outlet is located right of the toilet, and the cord wouldn't reach from the left
    - The Swash 1000 can be found at a slightly cheaper price

Design
Here are some differences in design specs. These are bidetsPLUS' measurements of the physical unit; may differ slightly from stated measurements in the owner's manual, perhaps due to conversion from metric units to imperial.

Key takeways: the Brondell Swash 1400 and Brondell Swash 1000 are almost identical in physical dimensions, with the Swash 1400 measuring just a tad more compact all the way around. The biggest difference to note is the electric cord, which has been placed on opposite sides between the models.
Â
Wash Features
Both seats offer the same wash functionality, although the Swash 1400 has a few subtle differences in features. Similarities include a stainless steel, twin-nozzle system - where one nozzle is dedicated for posterior wash and another nozzle is dedicated for feminine wash. Water pressure, water temperature and spray position can be adjusted on both models. Spray width can also be adjusted so you can choose between a wider, softer spray or a more narrow, concentrated spray.
Differences are that Brondell has lengthened the feminine nozzle on the Swash 1400 vs the Swash 1000 based on user feedback. The Swash 1400 includes an "Auto" feature, which starts a wash/dry cycle all in one button. The Swash 1400 also includes user presets, so wash settings can be customized for up to two people in your household.
Â
Other Features
Shared features between the Brondell Swash 1400 and Brondell Swash 1000 include a built-in warm air dryer and a temperature controlled, heated toilet seat. You'll find the sturdy "sit-able" lid on both models. This is one of the notable differences when comparing these seats to other manufacturers, as other bidet seats don't have a lid you can sit on.
Differences include a new LED night light on the Swash 1400, which the Swash 1000 does not have. The active carbon cartridge for the automatic air deodorizer can be replaced on the Swash 1400 as well. The carbon filter on the Swash 1000 could not be replaced, which would result in the filter losing efficacy over time. With the Swash 1400 you can easily swap the cartridge out to keep things fresh.
Â
Warranty
Since both of these models come from the same manufacturer, warranties for both seats are exactly the same:
    - 100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the first year from original date of purchase-
    - 75% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the second year from original date of purchase
    - 50% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for the third year from original date of purchase
    - Extended Warranty Option (add $99): 100% Coverage of all parts and labor for the entire bidet for five years
